The BMC’s 2010 Gower Climbing Festival (10th – 12th September) is an opportunity for you to experience what the Gower peninsula has to offer on its limestone cliffs and beautiful beaches. There’s plenty of climbing for everyone, with trad routes ranging from Diff to the high Extremes, sport routes from Fr6a+ to Fr8a, and a handful of bouldering areas too.

An agreement has been reached for climbing at Llanymynech, involving the BMC, local climbers and the Montgomeryshire and Shropshire Wildlife Trusts.

It seems climbing is hitting the big and small screens in a big way nowadays.

The North Wales Spine Clinic now offers BMC members a 50% discount on the initial consultation and examination.

Rob Adie, the BMC Climbing Walls and Competitions Officer, is currently live on the UKC Forums answering questions on climbing competitions and climbing wall issues.

Dan Clark and Matt Traver received grant aid from the BMC, MEF and Welsh Sports Association for a joint Anglo-American expedition to the little visited Djangart Range of Kyrghyzstan. The result was three fine first ascents of alpine peaks up to TD- in standard.
